Kristen Dechert has been teaching composition, English as a second
language, and technical writing courses at MSU since 2005. Most often,
she teaches Writing for the Workplace, English Composition I, and
English Composition II. In her classes, she stresses the importance of
compelling content and works with her students to produce clear,
concise, and convincing documents that meet the needs of the audience
and serve the writer's purpose. In addition to her professional
writing interests, she enjoys and studies twentieth-century literature,
especially works by contemporary women writers.
