Catherine Pierce

 

Catherine Pierce (B.A. Susquehanna University, M.F.A. The Ohio State University, Ph.D. University of Missouri) has had poems appear in Slate, Ploughshares, Crab Orchard Review, Indiana Review, Gulf Coast, Mississippi Review, Barrow Street, Blackbird, Mid-American Review, Third Coast, the anthology Best New Poets 2007, and elsewhere. Her collection Famous Last Words was selected by John Yau as the winner of the 2007 Saturnalia Books Poetry Prize, and was published in 2008. She is also the author of a chapbook, Animals of Habit (Kent State 2004), a winner of the Wick Chapbook Competition. Her primary areas of interest include creative writing and 20th century American literature.
