State Park

Located near Walcott in lower Greene County at the site of Benjamin Crowley's old home site and burial place, Crowley's Ridge State park is situated on western slopes of the ridge amid stately pines and hardwoods. The park offers guided tours. We will go on a guided tour with a park ranger. We will observe and learn about how the loess soil was formed from glacier deposits, the erosional process that formed Crowley's ridge and the history of the 1811-1812 New Madrid earthquake.
