HARP Grants
The Humanities and Arts Research Program grant application is available at the link below or through your department office. The HARP program funds several levels of research in the Humanities. The top HARP Grant carries a $5,000. award and title HARP Senior Research Fellow. Other HARP Grants carry between $1,000 and $4,000 awards and the title HARP Research Fellow. All grants are competitive among the Humanities tenured/tenure-track faculty and are intended to enhance the research program or scholarly/creative activities of faculty. Released time proposals associated with a research project will be considered on an individual basis and in lieu of a cash award. The deadline for submitting a HARP proposal is the first Friday of April each year. All proposals, with signatures and supporting documents, are to be sent to Allen 224 by 5:00 p.m. Late proposals will not be eligible for first round consideration. Recipients of the HARP Senior Research Fellow must agree to chair a panel on a Humanities topic of their choice sometime during the award year. The panel discussion may include faculty members, as well as community members. Each panel will be advertised and funded through the Institute for the Humanities and will be open to the public.
