2005 SUMMER COURSES

PH 4013/6013. Selected Topics in Physics for  Teachers I. (3) (Prerequisite: consent of instructor.) Basic concepts of physics. Will include discussion and clarification of material from currently adopted public school textbooks. This course is intended for high school physics teachers: June 1 - 14 · 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM · Hilbun 315

PH 4033/6033. Demonstrations and Concepts for Physics Teachers. (3) (Prerequisite: consent of instructor.) Topics are selected from waves, sound, light and electromagnetism as covered in high school. Equal emphasis is placed on theory, problems, demonstrations and laboratory. This course is intended for high school teachers: June 15 - 28 · 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM · Hilbun 315

PH 4023/6023. Astronomy for Physics Teachers. (3) (Prerequisite: consent of instructor.) This course provides teachers with a set of indoor and outdoor astronomy activities they can use in their classrooms, as well as familiarity with star charts, the night sky, and a better understanding of planets, stars and the Universe: July 6 - 20 · 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM plus some night work at observatory.
