JEFF CAVANAUGH



Professor Jeff Cavanaugh joined the Department in Fall 2007 and has a PhD from the University of Illinois. He has taught classes in international relations theory, international conflict, and globalization at MSU, Bradley University, and the University of Illinois. One of Professor Cavanaugh's favorite teaching techniques is to use classroom simulations, which students find educational as well as entertaining.

His research interests include: International Relations Theory, Hierarchy in International Relations, International Conflict, Globalization, and U.S. Foreign Policy. Professor Cavanaugh has published in Political Science Quarterly, and presented numerous papers at professional association meetings. He is currently working on data-collection projects on EU voting patterns in the UN General Assembly, US hate groups, and patron-client relationships in the international system.
