His research interests encompass the politics and government of India, and the nature of international relations more generally. Dr. Bhansali works closely with our students outside of the classroom, and still spends many hours counseling them and preparing them for their careers in the international arena.

Bhansali's dedicated work with our students has been recognized with his receipt of the highest teaching honor that our university bestows--the Upper Level Teaching Award of the MSU Alumni Association (pictured on extreme left in above photo). Students with international business and foreign service careers have praised him as a "great teacher" who has had a "profound impact" on them, who has mentored them, encouraged them to pursue opportunities in the international arena, and who has taught them like "a father teaches a son." Professor Bhansali has also won the Outstanding Political Science Professor award, been praised by alumni at our annual Alumni Dinner, and was a teacher of former MSU President Portera.
