DOUGLAS G. FEIG

Professor Doug Feig, now retired, focused on American Politics and specialized in legal studies and research methodology. He received his PhD from the University of Minnesota, and has been at MSU since 1979. Professor Feig taught specialized courses in Law and Politics, the Judicial Process, and Graduate Quantitative Methods, as well as more introductory classes in American Government. He has published in the areas of judicial issues, research methodology, and Mississippi politics. Feig has previously served as the Head of the Political Science Department, and as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs of the College of Arts and Sciences.

Feig has been recognized for his dedicated teaching and service to students, receiving the College of Arts and Sciences Paideia award and the Outstanding Political Science Professor award. He is co-author of Research Methods and Statistics: A Primer for Criminal Justice and Related Policy Sciences, and has published in numerous recognized journals, such as Western Political Quarterly, Social Science Quarterly, American Politics Quarterly, Political Methodology, and Southern Journal of Criminal Justice. Feig's creative use of computers in the classroom to analyze the political world has enriched the education of his students, and his methodological expertise has greatly helped our doctoral students.
