Since its beginning in January 1993, the University Academic Advising Center (UAAC) has been an important part of many students' academic endeavors at Mississippi State University (MSU). The Center provides the necessary academic advising services for students as they make, one of the most important decisions in their life.
The UAAC staff's primary focus is on the unique academic advising needs of the growing UND and SND student population attending MSU. The University Academic Advising Center staff utilizes intrusive advising strategies to help identify an appropriate academic path in relation to each student's personal goals, interests, and priorities. The Center also works closely with various other offices on the MSU campus such as the Learning Center, the Counseling Center and the Career Services Center, in an effort to facilitate a positive and productive academic experience for the students being served.
Convenience for the student is the goal of our team approach to advising, as at least one of our professional advisors is available from 8:00 to 5:00, Monday through Friday. Students are encouraged to take full advantage of services offered by our staff. Appointments are only required during pre-registration times.
