1. Students who are talented academically and eligible to enter any undergraduate program MSU offers, but who want to explore various options before narrowing their focus to one major.
2. Students who need more assistance, including referrals to other MSU resources, because they have not identified any special interests, and therefore, are uncertain as to their career and educational goals.
3. Students not seeking an undergraduate degree or major offered at MSU and are taking courses either as a prerequisite for graduate school, for a degree from another institution, or for personal satisfaction.
4. Students not eligible to enter a restricted major due to a variety of academic reasons, and are therefore in need of intrusive advising strategies, in addition to academic support referrals and developmental advising.
