In 2006, at the 71st Annual Meeting of the Society for American Archaeology in San Juan, Puerto Rico, graduate student Sarah Mistak was awarded the Dienje Kenyon Fellowship. This national award is made to one female graduate student each year to support research in zooarchaeology. The award of $500 will support her thesis research, involving use of shellfish remains from archaeological sites to investigate past climatic change.
