SUBJECT: AOP 10.07 – U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs: Students

PURPOSE

The purpose of this Academic Operating Policy and Procedure (AOP) is to insure an understanding and standardization of the policies relating to student veterans.

REVIEW

This AOP will be reviewed every five years (or whenever circumstances require an earlier review) by the Associate Provost for Academic Affairs (APAA) with recommendations for revision presented to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.

POLICY/PROCEDURE

Students attending school under one of the various U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) programs are required to attend class and are subject to special academic regulations. Faculty members who have students receiving VA benefits registered in their classes should consult the Mississippi State Bulletin, special policy statements sent to the general faculty, and the Office of the University Registrar for specific information concerning VA students.
