Programs of Study
The undergraduate biology curriculum
contains a nucleus of basic courses that present the unifying principles
of the biological sciences and a selection of advanced courses in
specialty areas. The B.S. in Biological
Sciences requires advanced coursework in the four major subdivisions
of biology: (1) Molecules, Cells, Genes, and Development, (2) Anatomy and
Physiology, (3) Organisms, and (4) Ecology and Evolution. The B.S. in
Medical
Technology requires advanced coursework in the Laboratory Analysis of
blood, fluids, cells, tissues, and microorganisms. The B.S. in
Microbiology
requires advanced coursework in basic and applied Microbiology. We also
have pre-professional options for students interested in the health
sciences.
