To enter our program, a student must have:
- A bachelor's degree in chemistry (or a related area with additional course work equivalent to the requirements for a traditional chemistry major)
- A minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.75/4.0 over the last two years.
- Have a bachelor's degree from an English-speaking country
or score a minimum of 475 on the paper-based "test of English as a foreign language" (TOEFL) exam,
or score 153 on the computer-based TOEFL exam.
A student who has not met one or more of these requirements may be admitted as an unclassified or provisional student. Check the Bulletin of the Graduate School for further details.
Financial support is available for entering students, but foreign students with low TOEFL scores (<550 paper-based, or 213 computer-based) are unlikely to be awarded a TA during their first year of study.
