Pre-Pharmacy Requirements [sample curriculum]

  1. Complete a minimum of 68 credit hours to be eligible for admission to the School of Pharmacy at the University of Mississippi.
  2. The required courses listed below add up to 66 credit hours. This discrepancy occurs because the physics requirement at the University of Mississippi is 8 credit hours (2 times 4), but MSU only offers 3-hour physics courses. The School of Pharmacy accepts MSU students with only 6 credit-hours in physics. HOWEVER, a total of 68 credit hours is still required.
  3. The extra 2 hours can be fulfilled by either taking General Physics III (recommended by the School of Pharmacy), or a general elective (any course with college credit). If a student completes General Physics III, and has nine hours of physics, the additional credit hour will count toward satisfying the general elective requirement.
