of U. S. aquaculture production are based on data released by
the Fisheries
Statistics and Economics Division of the National Marine
Fisheries Service and the Food and Agriculture Organization of
the United Nations. Finfish includes baitfish, catfish, salmon,
striped bass, tilapia and trout. The species included under shellfish
are clams, crawfish, mussels, oysters and shrimp. Miscellaneous
species include ornamental fish, alligators, algae, aquatic plants,
eels, scallops and others. For freshwater prawns, production
and values were retrieved from the Food and Agriculture Organization
of the United Nations. |
