ALTERNATIVE SALTWATER SHRIMP PRODUCTION SYSTEMS

The overall goal of this project is to develop COMMERCIAL POND PRODUCTION SYSTEMS of market-size marine shrimp in low salinity ponds. The specific objectives of this project are the following:

• Evaluate survival, growth and yield of marine shrimp in low salinity ponds.
• Determine feed conversion ratio and processing yields.
• Estimate investment and operating costs.
• Evaluate financial feasibility of CPPS under different technical, biological and economic scenarios.
• Provide information and technology transfer to the fish farning industry.
