	The Harry Truman Scholarship is a prestigious award given to as many as 85 junior level students nationally. It awards $30,000 for graduate studies based on academic achievement, a record of leadership, and a future commitment to public service. For more information visit the Harry S. 	The Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship is offered to students in their junior and senior years to fund their undergraduate education in the field of science, mathematics, or engineering. This scholarship emphasizes the importance of research at the undergraduate level. Visit the Barry M. Goldwater Foundation's Webpage for more information.
	The Rhodes Scholarship provides $40,000 to $60,000 for two years of study at Oxford University in England. Thirty-two scholarships are awarded nationally each year. The Rhodes is a post-baccalaureate program based on superior academic achievement, intellectual initiative, creative and aggressive thinking, and the potential for future leadership. 	The George J. Mitchell Scholarships, named in honor of the former Senator's pivotal contribution to the Northern Ireland peace process, are intended to familiarize and engage the next generation of America's leaders with the island of Ireland. These scholarships allow Americans to pursue one year of post-graduate study in any discipline offeered at institutions of higher learning in Ireland and Northern Ireland. The US-Ireland Alliance sponsors this prestigious, competitive, national scholarship to enable American citizens between the ages of 18 and 30 to study at universities on the island of Ireland. 	The Marshall Scholarship is awarded to as many as 40 students for two years of study at one of many British universities. It is also valued at $40,000 to $60,000 and is for graduate studies. 	The James Madison Memorial Scholarship is available to students of junior or senior standing or who are already teachers who want to teach social studies, government, or history in grades 10-12. This graduate level award of $24,000 is designed to produce teachers who have a greater understanding and appreciation for the United States Constitution. 	The Morris K. Udall Scholarship is a $5,000 a year undergraduate scholarship for sophomores and juniors who are interested in pursuing a career in environmental public policy OR who are Native Americans or Alaska Natives who are interested in health care or tribal policy. They will consider the student's field of study, career objectives, and the extent to which that individual has the commitment and potential to make a significant contribution to his or her field. 	The Phi Kappa Phi Graduate Scholarshipis an award for Phi Kappa Phi members entering a graduate program. The scholarship grants 50 Fellowships worth $7000 each and 30 Awards of Excellence for $1000 each annually. The selection is based on the applicant's academic achievement and test scores, promise of success in graduate studies, leadership experience, letters of recommendation, and expression of study and career goals.
	The National Security Education Program David L. Boren Undergraduate Scholarships provide funding for U.S. undergraduates to study abroad in critical, but underrepresented world areas. 	The All-USA College Academic Team is sponsored by the USA Today national newspaper and seeks to spotlight some of the best and brightest undergraduates found on the USA's campuses. Sixty students will be named to the First, Second and Third Teams and will be featured in a two-page color spread in the nation's newspaper. The 20 members of the First Team each will receive a trophy and a $2,500 cash award.

	The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), in an effort to strengthen the United States' science and technology community in battling terrorism and achieving other objectives, is offering the DHS Scholarship and Fellowship Program to college students and graduates. This program is intended for students interested in pursuing innovations of science and technology that can be applied to the DHS mission. Some areas of study include: physical, mathematical, computer and information, life and social sciences, psychology, selected humanities, and engineering. 	The Fulbright Program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, provided over $250,000,000 in 2004 to promote education and research in countries around the world. The Fulbright program is the largest U.S. international exchange program, offering about six thousand grants annually to both U.S. and foreign students, teachers, and researchers. 	The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation has a graduate scholarship program that awards about 65 scholarships to graduate students or graduating seniors planning to attend graduate school. Those selected can be awarded up to $50,000 a year for up to six years based on their cost of attendance. 	The National Science Foundation funds a graduate research fellowship program that awards approximately one thousand $40,000 fellowships to support graduate study. The support lasts three years, and awardees are expected to work towards research-based master's or doctoral degrees. These fellowships are intended for students in the early stages of their graduate study. Click here for more information about this fellowship.
	The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is offering a new scholarship, the Ernest F. Hollings Undergraduate Scholarship, for undergraduate students. Awardees receive $8,000 of assistance per year during their junior and senior years. Also, a 10-week, paid internship will be required during the summer between the junior and senior year. This program targets applicants who are willing to pursue a public service career with the NOAA or other governmental natural resource and science agencies. 	The Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholarships program was started in an effort to increase international awareness among students all over the world. Undergraduates as well as graduates are eligible. Recipient scholars travel abroad and serve as ambassadors of goodwill to the people of the host country.
