Historic Lee Hall

  • The English Department of Mississippi State University offers the Master of Arts degree in English Language and Literature, as well as the Bachelor of Arts degree and an undergraduate minor.
  • The department offers a concentration and a graduate level emphasis in Creative Writing and offers a certificate and a graduate level emphasis in TESOL, the teaching of English as a second language.
  • The department is home to the student-edited literary journal, the Jabberwock Review, as well as the esteemed literary journal, the Mississippi Quarterly.
  • The department provides a Writing Center, open for use by all Mississippi State students and staffed by English Department graduate students.
  • The department also provides required classes in English composition and English language and literature to the general student body.
