Gary Myers is Professor of English
and Creative Writing. His poems have appeared in the United States and
Canada in such publications as The New Yorker, Poetry, Kansas Quarterly,
Louisville Review, Indiana Review, Crazyhorse, California Quarterly, Pleiades,
The Albany Review, Poetry Northwest, The Plum Review, American
Poetry Monthly, Descant, Bitterroot, Blue Light Red Light, Antigonish
Review, Timbuktu, Poetry Toronto, Waves, Z Miscellaneous, Colorado-North
Review, and others. Lifetime Possessions won the 6th annual
Riverstone Press Poetry Prize and was published in December 1997 by Riverstone
Press of West Chester, PA. World Effects, selected by Naomi Shihab
Nye as the winner of the Stanley Hanks Poetry Award, sponsored by the
St. Louis Poetry Center, was published in January 1990 by Nevertheless
Press.
Current projects include: a poetry manuscript that
focuses on the Holocaust titled Planet Auschwitz; and, a poetry
manuscript titled Life's Promise.
Dr. Myers also served as Director of Freshman English,
1997-2003 and Associate Dean of Arts & Sciences, 2003-2007. He is
now on leave to the Dean's Office where he serves as Dean of Arts
& Sciences.. |
