What information is here
Pesticides and their recommended uses were on the labels at the time
of last access to company label information. Because changes in labels
occur constantly and because older labels will be encountered in many
purchase points, follow the label on the product you are using. Use
only if crop or pest or specific use is mentioned on the label.
Reference to commercial products or trade names is made with the understanding that no discrimination is intended against other products that also may be suitable. At this time, neither Spectracide nor Bonide have provided me with current labels. Their products are not included in this database.

About fungicide names and finding the fungicides at the store
Sometimes you may not be able to find a particular fungicide at the
stores you do business with. If so ask the manager if they order from
BWI. If they do, than use this table
(Table 2, below), to provide the manager with the catalog number to
order. While there are other suppliers to garden stores, BWI is the
only one that has provided me with a set of catalog numbers for their
products.
All fungicides contain an active ingredient that attacks, and hopefully, impairs the fungus. Each active ingredient has two names, a common name which we humans can understand, and a chemical name, which is only understood by those who have been trained in organic chemistry. Because it is primarily the active ingredient that counts* and not the brand name, and because many companies have fungicides that contain the same active ingredients, plant specialists often recommend a fungicide by its common name, for example "chlorothalonil". Unfortunately, some companies like to put the complicated chemical name on the label. The chemical name for chlorothalonil is "Tetrachloroisophthalonitrile". This causes shopping confusion.
I have used only common names in this database. They can be viewed by selecting "View Fungicide" and clicking on the fungicide of interest. They are also seen in all other tables under the bold word "Active-Ingredients". If you can't remember the correspondence between the names in this database when shopping, below, is a table that contains a list of common and chemical names to help you while shopping.
I had completed this database, except of the Green Light Information, when Kevin Ong of Texas A&M showed by a well written publication Chemicals for Plant Disease Control at Home by George Philley, Texas A&M. Much of this work duplicates his - but hopefully, this will stay up-to-date.
What is a FRAC code and how do I use it?
On the left side of the tables you will see a bold "Frac Code:"
followed by either a number or a letter and a number. FRAC code
stands for Fungicide
Resistance Action Committee, a group of professionals whose goal
is to extend the life time of fungicides before resistance
develops. Basically, when you need to repeatably spray to control a
fungal problem, it is best to use chemicals from different groups -
i.e. different numbers - unless the code begins with a "m" followed by
a number. This means that the fungicide acts upon multiple sites, and
resistance risk is low. This risk is also reflected in the tables.
*Some companies add other materials to the fungicides, such as
spreaders or stickers, or flowing agents. These additives may make a
particular brand of fungicide work better in many different ways than
another with the same active ingredient.
