Johnnie Haley

    Johnnie Haley obtained his B.A. degree from Mississippi State University in 1966 and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 1973.  He served as the Index & Review Editor for the Mississippi Law Journal, as Co-Editor of the Mississippi Journal of Space Law, and was initiated as a member of the Mayes Inn of the International Legal Fraternity of Phi Delta Phi.  He was admitted to practice law in Mississippi in 1973.

    Mr. Haley is a member of the Mississippi Bar, the Military Officers Association of America, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and the Bar Association of the Fifth Federal Circuit.  He is admitted to practice law before all federal and state trial and appellate courts in Mississippi, as well as before the U.S. Court of Military Review, the U.S. Court of Military Appeals, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. 

    Mr. Haley served on active duty with the United States Armed Forces as a Judge Advocate with the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate General’s Department until his retirement from active duty in 1993.  Over that period of time, Mr. Haley served as a Trial Counsel, a Staff Judge Advocate at two different bases within the Strategic Air Command, the Chief of Military Justice for Headquarters Eighth Air Force, the Director of Military Law for Headquarters Pacific Air Command, and finally as Circuit Trial Judge for all U.S. Air Force bases throughout the southeast region of the United States.

    Upon retirement from active duty in 1993, Mr. Haley was selected to serve as the Deputy General Counsel for Mississippi State University.  In conjunction therewith, he has simultaneously served as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Mississippi to represent Mississippi State University in litigation matters.
