Drive to Arundel Quarry

While driving, a brief introduction to the Arundel Quarry will be given.

Drive to Lapidun Landing
Just outside of Arundel Quarry

(Lapidum Landing
is only a boat launch,
however it has
a really great view and picnic tables to work on.)
Students
will be broken into groups to complete the Mineral
and Rock Identification.
Once
groups have concluded names of the samples, the whole group will come together
to compare answers.
A
discussion/debate will be lead, with a comment or idea shared from every
group member, on the envirmental impacts a quarry can/may have on the surrounding
environment.
After
discussion/debate has concluded, a friendly fire-starting competition to
end the daily activities.
