Log impression in the rock

At the mangrove site there are many impressions of logs as well as leaves and broken strands of vegetation.  Pollen grains that are found indicate that the vegetation at this dime was dominated by flowering plants.  This evidence has lead geologist to believe that this area once resembled the mangrove trees along the shoreline in southern Florida today.  Tracks from crocodiles have been seen in the sediment in this area.
