Ripple marks are found along Dinosaur Ridge. Two kinds are found here, symmetric and asymmetric. The symmetric ripple marks, which are recognized by an even pattern of rounded troughs and peaked crests, are evidence of shallow water. The asymmetric marks, recognized by a gentle slope downstream and a steep slope up stream are evidence of tidal pools or river currents. This suggests different marine environments existed in this area.
