Gulf Coast
Region

This region is part of the Gulf Coastal Region of the United States that encompasses all of the southeastern states. It occupies the southwestern quarter of the state of Arkansas. Much of the topography is gently rolling. Much of the soil of the region is leached and offers little in the way of fertile agricultural development. The region contains most of the states extractive industries.
