These observations can be done anytime during the trip. The further away from city lights easier the observations.
1. Locate the north star.
2. Name and locate three different constellations.
3. Are there any planets visible, if so, name and locate.
4. What phase is the moon in and is it waxing or wanning?
Needed supplies - Bug spray.
In the morning we leave for a driving tour of the Paleozoic rocks of
the Ozark region. Head east on Hwy 14 to Hwy 9 the first stop of the driving
tour is 3.5 miles north of the Ozark Folk Center.
