9:00-11:00: Drive about 2 hours up to Cheyenne Bottoms Wetlands.
Take 56 to Great Bend,
then 156 to Cheyenne Bottoms.
11:00-1:00: Spend a couple hours on a
driving tour of the Bottoms for some great bird watching and
photographing. This wetland
is crucial for many migrating birds, as well as permanent
resident birds. Contrast
this 41,000-acre area of bottom (wet) lands with the rest of what
has been seen so far.

1:00-1:30: Take 156 to Ellsworth.
1:30-2:30: Lunch in Ellsworth
2:30-5:00: Drive to I-70 and go to Lawrence. Go to the Eldridge
Hotel on Mass. St. This is
an old-style hotel that has some history, and is a nice contrast to the
rest of the week.
5:00-??: Finish the Field Journal and hand it in. Get together
and plan an evening to celebrate the
conclusion
of a learning exploration. End of the trip get-togethers can happen
at many
venues.
The Eldridge is very nice, but my favorite is Free State Brewing Company.
