African Savanna
The savanna climate is characterized by distinct wet and dry seasons. During
the dry season which occurs in the winter, the lakes and streams dry up,
much of the plant life dies and the animals need to migrate for food.
When the rains return in the summer the animals return. The temperature
ranges between 68 and 86 degrees Fahrenheit. The average rainfall is 10-30
inches. The climate of the savanna is largely influenced by its proximity
between the ITCZ and subtropical highs. |
