Downtown Memphis
Walking Tour

Day two of the Mid South Area trip will begin with a walking tour of downtown Memphis. We will start out at the Peabody Hotel (where we have spent the first night). From here, we will walk west on Union Avenue. We will then turn right (north) on South Main Street. We will finish our walking tour at "Mud Island",  125 North Front Street. The entire tour is .6 miles and including stops along the way, should take about 2 hours to complete.

The afternoon of the second day will be spent at Mud Island. We will ride the monorail from downtown (125 North Front Street) into the park. Once on the island, we will tour the "Mississippi River Museum" which consists of 18 galleries of exhibits that tell the story of the Mississippi River (both historically and geologically). And finally, we will take a walk on the "River Walk", a 5-block scale model of the Mississippi River. We will have lunch in the park. The cost of the tour is $8.
