Position Title:
Research Associate II
Area of Specialization:
Field - Water Resources
Department: Geosciences
Description:
This is a non-tenure track, full-time
(12-month), research position to participate in the research
programs of the Department of Geosciences at Mississippi State
University. The position involves support of research in the
area of water resources.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Conducts field experiments in
support of water resources research, operating field equipment,
collecting and transporting samples in accordance with standard
plans.

Performs laboratory analyses of
field samples in accordance with standards.

Provides training and guidance to
more junior staff, including undergraduate and graduate
students, and support personnel in research projects.

May perform other scientific
duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
An earned M.S. in Geosciences and
minimum of one year experience in water-related and laboratory field
experiments with an emphasis in Geology; good oral and written
communication skills; demonstrated knowledge of field work and
laboratory methods.
Preferred Qualifications:
All minimum qualifications plus 3
years experience in water research-related field and laboratory
experiments.
