(October 28, 2004) I am currently working as an Intelligence Analyst for the FBI at the Headquarters Building in downtown Washington, D.C. I work to integrate intelligence reports on terrorist and intelligence-gathering operations by hostile agents in the United States, and to ensure that the broader intelligence community is aware of our reporting.
My Political Science degree was great preparation for this position. I'm using the statistical and analytical methods from Dr. Shaffer's Political Analysis course, the database methods from Dr. Travis' course on war and conflict, as well as the writing and analytical skills from all of my other political science courses. My supervisors have emphasized again and again that strong writing skills are crucial to succeeding.
I would be eager to speak with any MSU alums who are considering a career in national security or of moving to Washington, D.C.
