DEPARTMENTAL GRADUATION CEREMONY, 2004
Our departmental graduation ceremony for 2004 was Saturday, May
8 at 12:30 PM in Bost. Students graduating in
May and in August were honored by our faculty. Presiding over the ceremony
was Dave Breaux, our department head, and welcoming the students and
parents was Phil Oldham, Dean of our College of Arts and Sciences. Diane
Wall, Ed Clynch, and our professional staff Tracy and Marla coordinated
the ceremony.
Some of the highlights of the program involving our graduating
undergraduates:
- Matt Anderson is going to law school
- Melissa Crenshaw is getting a Masters in Health Care Administration in
Memphis
- Paul Gault is going to the University of Mississippi Law School
- Kristy Graham is entering the Peace Corps
- Smith Lilley is being commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Air
Force, and will be studying in England as a national Mitchell Scholar
- James Massey is being commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Air
Force, and is specializing in Space and Missiles training
- Morgan McPhail is entering MSU's graduate school
- Erin Melaney presented a paper at the Citadel Symposium on Southern
Politics in Charleston S.C.
- Robert Miles is entering MSU's MPPA program and will continue as
President of Prelaw Society
- Jennifer Phillips is being commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the
Air Force, and is entering Intelligence
Some of the highlights of the program involving our graduating graduate
students:
- Ernest Brothers is teaching at Delta State University, and will be
pursuing a PhD degree
- Beverly Crouther is working at the State Personnel Board
- Eric Graham is entering Mississippi College law school
- Terry Griffin has an internship with the PEER Committee, and has a job
lined up as a civilian with the Army
- Christina Lee is entering law school
- Jennifer Vincequere, previously working at NATO, will be a Budget
Analyst at the Columbus Air Force Base
The Outstanding Undergraduate Students were: Jane Anna Harris, Smith
Lilley, and Jennifer Phillips
The Outstanding Graduate Students were: Eric Graham, Christina Lee, and
Matt Sumrall
The Outstanding Professor was Doug Goodman
A reception followed the ceremony.
