1999 DEPARTMENTAL GRADUATION HIGHLIGHTS
This year's departmental graduation ceremony was held at 9:30 AM on
Thursday, May 13 in Memorial Hall's 1st floor auditorium. Our department's
graduation ceremony is a personal one, where each graduating student is
introduced by a faculty member. Some graduation information follows.

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS
- Jonathan Bullock is attending University of Tulsa School of Law
- Megan Carlisle presented a paper at the Mississippi Political Science
Association meeting on the death penalty, and is joining the History
graduate program at MSU
- Amy Crowe serves as Account Coordinator with the Ramey Agency, an
advertising agency in Jackson
- Laura Curto interned with the White House, and has joined the Bill
Hawks campaign for Lieutenant Governor
- Eric Graham served as an intern with Senator Trent Lott, and is
attending Mississippi College School of Law
- David Hobson is entering the economics graduate program at Indiana
University
- W. Fred Hornsby is attending the University of Mississippi School of
Law
- Amanda McPhail has joined the Eddie Briggs for Governor campaign
- Staci Morgan has joined the Amy Tuck campaign for Lieutenant Governor
- Greg Phillips serves as Investigator for the Attorney General's office
for the Choctaw nation in Mississippi
- John David Shaw was founder and first President of the Stennis Maroon
Association, and is joining the Mark Garriga for Attorney General campaign
- Brad Sweet, former Student Association President and a Truman Scholar,
will study foreign affairs at Georgetown University
- Shonda Toran is entering paralegal school at George Washington
University

GRADUATE STUDENTS
- Dennis Dauphin won the Presidential Management Internship Program
award, and will work with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
- Sumner Davis served as President of the MSU Graduate Student
Association
- Darron Fouse will be interning with Meridian city government
- Tomika Harris will be interning with a Natchez law firm and attending
the University of Mississippi School of Law
- Shannah Jones interned with the East Mississippi Plannning and
Development District
- Jimmy Smith interned with the PEER Committee and Starkville city
government
- Peyton Smith served as Vice President of the MSU Graduate Student
Association
- Deborah Warriner serves as Director of Public Information and Training
for the Department of Rehabilitation Services
