Two faculty were also initiated into the honorary: Deborah Davenport and Gerald Emison.
The keynote address was given by an alumnus, Michael Boyd, who is Director of Elections Administration in the Secretary of State's office. He stressed the importance of a public service career. He defined such a career as working hard at work worth doing. Boyd had two suggestions for students seeking jobs: network, such as by working on a campaign; beat the streets and be aggressive in seeking a job. He also indicated that he hopes that Barbour succeeds, as that will help Mississippi. He also talked about his previous job as a Musgrove staff member and Musgrove's accomplishments in elementary and secondary education and in economic development. Boyd said that his current job strives to ensure that elections are conducted in a fair and honest manner.
Student initiates praised the work of Doug Feig, who is faculty advisor for Pi Sigma Alpha. New members were introduced by Will McComb, President of Pi Sigma Alpha.
