Composting Poultry Carcasses


The disposal of dead poultry carcasses is regulated by the Mississippi Board of Animal Health and the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce. The recommendations included in the following pages and licensing of facilities for disposing of animal carcasses is controlled by these agencies.

Prior to investing in building facilities shown here, it is best to contact the Poultry Epidemiologists. They will make recommendations as to the type and scope of the facilities needed for your poultry operation.
