PO 4833/6833 POULTRY ANATOMY

Introduction

Welcome to the anatomy lab. We have made every effort to ensure that you learn something and also that you enjoy the time spent here. An outline and calendar of the lab exercises is attached. Please read ahead and be prepared when you come to class.

Each person will be in a work group with a partner. However, individual work will always be required.

The laboratory is arranged in work stations numbered 1-6. Each group will claim a work station for the entire semester. You are responsible for keeping your work area and your utensils clean and in good working order. The following rules are enforced:

  1. No eating or drinking.
  2. Lab partners may share a bird but individual work is required when writing reports.
  3. Use the protector pads to keep the work area clean.
  4. Counter tops, floors and walls must be washed, cleaned and inspected at the end of the lab time.
  5. Stay in your work area and do not leave class until dismissed.

Final laboratory grades are calculated from three unit exams plus a comprehensive final exam. The lecture grade and the lab grade will count 50% each. The lab exams are scheduled for lab sessions 6, 10 and 13 and the final exam will be given during lab 14.
