• Serves as liaison between MDE and LEAs to assist in achieving Mattie T. goals. • Develops, provides, and assists in the use of a needs assessment methodology that LEAs use in selecting training materials, technologies, and information to address and achieve Mattie T. goals. • Monitors LEAs in the effective use of the identified materials, technologies, and information, evaluation of the impact of these on professionals’ knowledge and skills and student outcomes. • Provides LEAs periodic technical assistance as needed for the purpose of improving local practices. • Locates needed instructional materials that are research-based and culturally competent, based on effective instructional principles and effective teacher support team practices. • Provides technical assistance to
selected LEAs on reevaluation practices that will facilitate the reexamination
of eligibility determinations for students with specific special needs. |
