About Us
The Office of Student Support Services, established in 1981 as a
department within the Division of Student Affairs, provides
supportive services for students who have an academic need and are
low income, first generation or disabled in order to facilitate
active participation in campus life.
Student Support Services provides personal counseling, academic
monitoring, and specialized services such as wheelchair repair
for those who need it. Student Support Services strives to
provide opportunities that enable special-needs students to take
full advantage of their university experience and to function as
independently as possible in the process. The office serves as the
coordinating body for services provided to special-needs students
by other university divisions and by state rehabilitation agencies.
