NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY
Industrial Technology is a field of study designed to prepare technical and management professionals for employment in manufacturing and distribution industries, education, and government. Industrial Technology is primarily involved with the management, operation, and maintenance of complex technological systems, including:
  • Materials
  • Manufacturing Processes
  • Management
  • Economics
  • Human Relations
  • Quality Control
  • Computer Applications/CAD/CAM
  • Electronics and Automation

Industrial Technologists are the interface between Senior Management and the production environment and provide application knowledge, while Engineering is primarily involved with the design and implementation of these complex manufacturing systems.

NAIT stands for The National Association of Industrial Technology. NAIT is a national student organization for Industrial Technology students.

Each year NAIT holds a national convention, and for the past six years, the MSU student chapter of NAIT has traveled to the national conventions to compete against other universities in various competitions.

In the past three years our chapter has faired well in the IT/IQ competition. In 2004 MSU won 1st place. In 2003 and 2005 MSU finished in 4th place.
This past year we had three of our members pass the certification exam and become Certified Industrial Technologists (CIT).
