About this event

Increased collaboration between industry and universities is of paramount importance in today’s global knowledge economy, but establishing relationships with business and industry can be challenging. Kathy Gelston, MSU associate vice president for corporate engagement and economic development, will help faculty, researchers, staff and students identify ways to establish mutually beneficial industrial collaborations and develop strong strategic partnerships. Topics of discussion include, among others, identification of potential industry partners; successful initial meetings; expectations of industry; common industry drivers related to research; successful communication with industry; proposal and contract differences with industry; timelines associated with dealing with industry; common drivers when recruiting industry (professional development/workforce training, quality of life, convenience to airport, hotels, transportation, etc.). Come learn more about how you can take a successful, strategic approach to corporate engagement when working with business and industry as a university liaison. Click the "Link" below to register. You must have an MSU ID to register online. If you do not have a net ID and would like to attend, please call Lynn Taylor at (662) 325-3168 or email ltaylor@research.msstate.edu to sign up.
