About this event

The Heart Behind the Music, the intimate concert series featuring solo musicians taking turns singing and telling stories about their music, is returning to the MSU Riley Center! John Berry and his soulful tenor voice first hit the country charts in the 1990s with the plaintive “Your Love Amazes Me.” Will Champlin, son of Heart Behind the Music veteran Bill Champlin, placed third on Season Five of NBC's "The Voice" in 2013. Linda Davis, mother of Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott, sings more delicately than her daughter but just as expressively. Ballad specialist Billy Dean has put more than 20 songs on the Billboard country charts, starting in 1990 with “Only Here for a Little While.” Big-voiced 14-year-old Chloe Channell already is an eight-year concert veteran. As a bonus, concertgoers can enjoy a pre-show party with refreshments in the Grand Lobby starting at 6 p.m. Tickets may be purchased online, by phone or in person at the MSU Riley Center Box Office.
