MSU Bill Henry Memorial Chemistry Scholarship Golf Tournament

Mississippi State's Department of Chemistry encourages interested members of the campus and surrounding communities to participate or sponsor its annual Bill Henry Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament! The tournament is a four person scramble and is limited to 25 teams or 100 golfers. The cost is $100 per person or $400 per team. The tournament package includes a breakfast snack, barbecue lunch, green fees, T-shirt, golf cart, golf balls and complimentary beverage cart. Registration and breakfast begin at 8 a.m. with the shotgun start taking place at 9 a.m. Prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third place finishers in each flight. The hole-in-one prize is a 2016 Ford Focus provided courtesy of Starkville Ford-Lincoln. Proceeds from the tournament will assist the department in its goal of funding seven research scholarships for undergraduate students working to gain experience in the chemical research environment. Since its spring 2010 inception, the MSU Bill Henry Memorial Chemistry Scholarship Golf Tournament has raised funds to provide an average of five undergraduate research scholarships per year for hardworking, high achieving students. The awards have enabled students to work alongside the department's distinguished faculty on projects covering all areas of chemistry, ranging from biofuel production and nonparticle synthesis for new materials to NMR interpretation of disordered protein regions and DNA folding in cancer genes.
