@CrosbyArboretum Coneflowers for the Home Garden Program

July 30, 2016
10:00 am to 11:00 am

About this event

Coneflowers (Echinacea) are bright-blooming perennials, some of which are used in herbal remedies. They are easy to care for, relatively drought-tolerant and good for cut flowers. Coneflowers are daisy-like with raised centers, and the seeds in their dried flower heads will attract songbirds to your garden. Come to the Crosby Arboretum and learn about some of the new varieties of coneflowers with help from Pearl River County Extension Agent Eddie Smith. Admission is free to members and $5 for non-members. Please call the Crosby Arboretum's business office at 601-799-2311 to register for this workshop by July 29. Additional Information
With increasing value being placed on our natural heritage, the Crosby Arboretum in Picayune is the premier native plant conservatory in the Southeast. The arboretum was established as a living memorial to L.O. Crosby Jr. (1907-1978) and has expanded to become a resource for education in the region and the world. Today, it provides for the protection of the region's biological diversity and serves as a place for the public's enjoyment of plant species native to the Pearl River Drainage Basin of south-central Mississippi and Louisiana.
