About this event

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for this performance by The Ritz Chamber Players (www.ritzchamberplayers.org), the nation’s first chamber music ensemble series comprised solely of accomplished musicians spanning the African diaspora. Bringing a fresh, new energy to the classical music genre, the group has performed with the most pretigious musical organizations, including the New York Philharmonic, Boston Symphony, Pittsburgh Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra and London Symphony. The Ritz Chamber Players perform chamber works from the standard classical repertoire in many combinations, as well as highlighting the works of contemporary African-American composers. Part of the 2016-17 Lyceum Series, The Ritz Chamber Players performance is being sponsored by the university's Holmes Cultural Diversity Center. For more information on the 2016-17 season, telephone the Center for Student Activities at 662-325-2930, visit its Colvard Student Union Suite 314 office or email lyceum@msstate.edu.
