Evaluating and Citing Sources

August 29, 2016
3:00 pm to 4:00 pm

About this event

When doing research for a college paper, the number of available sources can be just plain overwhelming. How can you tell if they are useful? Should we trust the credibility of an obscure retweet that has some cool information on climate change, or is that first-hit article on Google more appropriate to quote in a research paper? Maybe neither – what do you think? Join us for an hour-long seminar on evaluating the credibility and appropriateness of sources, as well as citing them. Be sure to bring a research essay that you are working on with you.
