Mac McAnally, named Country Music Association Musician of the Year eight years in a row, is giving a concert to benefit Mississippi State University's Department of Music, part of the College of Education. A portion of proceeds from his show will go to the department’s All-Steinway Initiative. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Now on sale, general admission tickets are $40 each. Though born in Red Bay, Alabama, the singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist grew up just across the Mississippi state line in Belmont, where he began performing as a child at the town’s First Baptist Church. He is a member of the Mississippi Musicians Hall of Fame.

With the All-Steinway School designation, MSU would join a select group of more than 160 institutions of higher learning and conservatories around the world and become the only Mississippi school holding the prestigious honor.
