About this event

Mississippi State's Department of Communication and Theta Alpha Chapter of Lambda Pi Eta national communication honor society are hosting a public screening of the documentary "Eyes on Mississippi." Other event sponsors include the Department of Political Science and Public Administration and the Gender Studies program. Produced and directed by journalist Ellen Ann Fentress, the documentary explores the career of longtime journalist and political columnist Bill Minor, who covered state and national politics for seven decades. A panel discussion on the intersection of gender, politics and journalism will follow the film screening, which is free to all. In addition to Fentress, guest panelists include Marty Wiseman, executive director emeritus of MSU's John C. Stennis Institute of Government and Community Development; and MSU alumna Donna Ladd, co-owner and editor of the Jackson Free Press.
