For most God fearing people, Sunday is the day of the Sabbath. Some people don't even work that day, but most people go to church for enlightenment and to praise the Lord. Sunday has never been deemed the day of baseball ushering. I cannot reprimand or allow anyone else to reprimand those people who are late to baseball ushering due to their religious beliefs. Even at Field Training you are given the opportunity to practice your religious beliefs, and I do not see why we should be any different. For those of you who worked the games on SuperBulldog Weekend...Thank you. I know you were called on short notice to work during the biggest weekend this semester. There are enough cadets in the program to fill these slots, and I know all of you do not go to church. My advise for next year is for those individuals to work the Sunday games to allow for others to go to church. We have some individuals who have worked 4, 5, even 6 games. If you divide the amount of times we need to usher by the people we have, each cadet would have to work a little less than 2 games. That is to say, if they are pulling their own weight. I love this program and everything about it, but I will not deny anyone the ability to go to church. I consider this subject closed. We need to finish out the season and learn our lessons for next Spring. Hopefully things will be a little more organized and motivating next time.
