To the basketball players,
This is Cadet Grace. I am not very happy with the lack of motivation and responsibility that you all have. To the ones that showed up for the BLOWOUT that we suffered, I really do appreciate it. To the ones who didn't, don't come giving me excuses as to why you did not show up.
We barely had five to play with. Nobody, with the exception of one, didn't attempt to leave me an excuse as to why you all couldn' t show up. That really pisses me off. I, as a captain, had to sit there and listen to the other team talk trash about us. And I really did start to believe it there for a minute. One of the opposing team players came up to us and said, " How can you show up and fight for your country when you can't even show up for a measely basketball game!" That really hit me hard. The reason why is because it is true!!!!!!!
It is not the fact that we lost, IT is the fact that the ones who didn't show up didn't even try to call, e-mail, put any message in my box, anything to tell me that you all wasn't going to show up. NOBODY DID THAT. That really shows responsibility and you have been or going to field training and have been taught responsibility to handle your own business. It doesn't seem like it to me.
I will admit that I can' t make everything myself, but I do tell somebody why. I have always did that. ALWAYS!!!!!! And for that team to talk bad about how we were scared and how we were sorry in not having enough to show up. THAT TEAM WAS SORRY. But due to the lack of responsibility, we lost to a sorry team.
TO THE ONES WHO DIDN'T SHOW UP, DON'T COME UP TO MY FACE ,SMILING, TRYING TO GIVE ME AN EXCUSE AS TO WHY YOU DIDN'T SHOW UP. DON'T EVEN TRY IT. I JUST WANTED TO LET YOU ALL KNOW, AS WELL AS THE DETACHMENT, THAT I DON'T WANT TO GO TO WAR KNOWING THAT I DON'T HAVE ANY BACK UP WHEN I NEED IT. I REALLY DON'T. SO TO THE ONES WHO SHOWED UP, I APPRECIATE IT. TO THE ONES WHO DIDN'T, DON'T COME SMILING IN MY FACE THINKING IT WILL BE ALRIGHT, CAUSE IT WON'T BE.
Cadet Grace,
MWRSO
